1. ECONOMIC GROWTH

The economy of West Sumatra in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the third quarter of 2023 grew by 4.33 percent (y-on-y). The economy of West Sumatra in the third quarter of 2024 based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached IDR 83.52 trillion or at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 49.97 trillion.

2. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) of West Sumatra Province in August 2024 was 5.75 percent, down 0.19 percentage points compared to August 2023. Meanwhile, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) of West Sumatra Province in August 2024 was 70.28 percent, an increase of 0.67 percentage points compared to August 2023.
