1. Inflation

In November 2024, West Sumatra Province experienced an inflation rate of 0.27% (m-to-m) and 0.54% year-on-year (y-o-y). The expenditure group contributing the most to y-o-y inflation was personal care and other services, at 0.37%.

2. Farmer Exchange Rate

The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) in West Sumatra Province for November 2024 was recorded at 129.36, an increase of 3.02% compared to the previous month.

3. Producer Price of Paddy

In November 2024, the price of harvested dry paddy at the farmer level was Rp7,455/kg, a decrease of 1.02% compared to the previous month. The price of harvested dry paddy at the mill level was Rp7,617/kg, a decrease of 1.11%.

4. Tourism

In October 2024, the number of international tourist arrivals in West Sumatra Province was 7,511, a decline of 8.76% compared to the previous month. The hotel occupancy rate for star-rated hotels was 47.96%, a decrease of 0.38 percentage points compared to the previous month.

5. Transportation

In October 2024, the number of domestic and international passengers departing through BIM airport was 98.25 thousand, a decrease of 4.95% compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the number of arriving domestic and international passengers was 97.73 thousand, a decline of 1.82%.

6. Exports and Imports

The export value of West Sumatra Province in October 2024 reached US$243.82 million, an increase of 79.83% compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the import value was US$44.23 million, an increase of 6.93% compared to the previous month.

7. Human Development Index (HDI)

The Human Development Index (HDI) of West Sumatra Province in 2024 reached 76.43, an increase of 0.79 points (1.04%) compared to the previous year (75.64).
