Thursday (19/12), at Hotel Santika Padang, BPS-Statistics of West Sumatra Province held a workshop on Sectoral Statistics Implementation (PSS).
The PSS workshop aims to enhance the quality and accuracy of statistical data needed by government agencies for development tasks and policy planning. This activity includes training on understanding the 5 Domains, 19 Aspects, and 38 Indicators of EPSS, enabling participants to comprehend and implement proper methods in data collection and processing.
The event was opened by the Head of BPS-Statistics of West Sumatra Province, Sugeng Arianto, and attended by 10 regional government organizations (OPDs) involved in sectoral statistics activities. In his remarks, Sugeng emphasized that a significant amount of statistical data is scattered across government agencies for strategic policies and needs to be well-managed to achieve the "Satu Data Indonesia" initiative. Sugeng also expressed his hope that participating OPDs could serve as driving forces and examples for other OPDs in West Sumatra.
The event continued with presentations from speakers, including Hera Maitilova Jonar, a Junior Expert Statistician from BPS West Sumatra Province; Hella Citra, a Junior Expert Statistician from BPS Payakumbuh City; and Adek Budiman, a Junior Expert Computer Analyst from BPS Agam Regency. This was followed by discussions and a Q&A session to assess the readiness of participating OPDs for the evaluation of sectoral statistics implementation in 2025.
