1. POVERTY PROFILE
In March 2025, the number of poor people (people with monthly per capita expenditure below the poverty line) in West Sumatra Province reached 312.35 thousand people (5.35 percent), a decrease of 3.08 thousand people compared to 315.43 thousand people in September 2024. The percentage of poor people in urban areas in September 2024 decreased from 4.16 percent in September 2024 to 3.91 percent in March 2025. Meanwhile, the percentage of poor people in rural areas in September 2024 increased from 6.79 percent in September 2024 to 6.93 percent in March 2025.

2. LEVEL OF POPULATION EXPENDITURE INEQUALITY
In March 2025, the level of expenditure inequality in West Sumatra Province, as measured by the Gini Ratio, was 0.282. This figure decreased compared to the September 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.287. Meanwhile, compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio (0.283), there was a decrease of 0.001 points.

3. INFLATION
In July 2025, West Sumatra Province experienced inflation of 0.64% (month-to-month) and year-on-year inflation of 2.19%. The expenditure group with the largest contribution to year-on-year inflation was food, beverages, and tobacco at 0.66%.

4. FARMER'S EXCHANGE RATE (NTP)
The Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) for West Sumatra Province in July 2025 was recorded at 127.94, an increase of 1.34% compared to the previous month. The subsector with the largest NTP was the horticultural crops subsector at 168.34.

5. TOURISM
The number of foreign tourist visits to West Sumatra Province in June 2025 was 8,621, a 3.72% increase compared to the previous month. The occupancy rate for star-rated hotels was 45.32 percent, a 2.11 percentage point increase compared to the previous month.
6. TRANSPORTATION
In June 2025, the number of domestic and international passengers departing via BIM was 104.23 thousand, a 4.60% increase compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the number of domestic and international passengers arriving via BIM was 102.25 thousand, an 11.27% increase compared to the previous month.
7. EXPORTS AND IMPORTS
The export value of West Sumatra Province from January to June 2025 reached US$1,278.75 million, a 25.75% increase compared to January to June 2024. Meanwhile, the import value from January to June 2025 reached US$225.15 million, a 4.22% decrease compared to January to June 2024.
