Abstract

The goal of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a global agenda with the spirit that the development undertaken takes into account the continuity of generations and maintains the balance of nature. The expected economic development within the framework of SDGs is in line with the national development goal of providing prosperity for all Indonesians. In the effort to achieve the target of SDGs and the target of national development goal as stated in “RPJMN and Nawacita”, the support of credible and current data is needed. Public welfare statistics publication is a manifestation of BPS's responsibility as an institution in charge of providing basic statistical data as inputs in the measurement of targeted SDGs and national development. The statistics used to present the welfare of the people come from the results of the National Socio-Economic Survey which is a household-based survey. BPS conducts annual Susenas annually in March and September. The data presented in this publication is the result of Susenas conducted in West Sumatera Province in March 2017 against 10,200 sample households. the National Socio-Economic Survey collects data on population, education, health, fertility and family planning, housing, information and communication technology, crime, traveling, and social protection. These data are presented at the national and provincial levels so as to allow for comparison between regions. This publication is expected to meet the need for socio-economic data for both planning and development evaluation.
